Your blood tests count too.
You may already be immune without knowing it — from an illness caught as a child, or a vaccine whose record has since disappeared. When your doctor has ordered a serology test, Vaxelia compares your result with the thresholds published by HAS and SPILF, and shows you what those tables provide for your vaccination plan.
When the result reaches the published threshold, the matching doses leave your catch-up plan.
With the exact reference, to show your doctor: the decision is theirs.
Five serology tests, not one more — tetanus and hepatitis B, before and after vaccination, the ones HAS retains for catch-up; varicella and hepatitis A in specific circumstances.
Each result is matched to the corresponding row of the HAS / SPILF table, which states the recommended course: no vaccination needed, full schedule required, one dose then re-test, optional extra dose, or specialist referral.
Every term is explained behind a "?": what the test measures, what the result means, what it changes for you.

A lost or incomplete record
Rather than starting from scratch, a serology test can reveal immunity left by an old infection or by a vaccination whose proof is gone.
Vaxelia records that immunity and removes the matching doses from the catch-up plan.

Hepatitis B: three markers, not one
HBsAg, anti-HBs and anti-HBc read together tell apart a current infection, a past infection, vaccine-acquired immunity, or no marker at all.
Anti-HBs alone is not enough — and that is exactly what the app explains instead of showing a raw number.

A serology test only proves what it measures
A protective tetanus antibody level does not clear the Hib or hepatitis B doses. Each test only releases the components it genuinely documents.
It sounds obvious. It is also the easiest mistake to make, and a dedicated test in the engine locks it down.
Measured 4 to 8 weeks after a dose
A serology test is not a prerequisite for vaccination, and there is no point doing one routinely. For catch-up, HAS does not recommend serology for measles, mumps, rubella, diphtheria, or tetanus before vaccination: Vaxelia therefore does not offer them, rather than padding a list. A serology test does not measure cellular immunity, and documented doses keep their value. Your doctor decides whether one is warranted — the app is there to make use of the result.
CURRENT COVERAGE

At the top of the Summary, a label sums up your protection with a "diseases covered / diseases concerned" counter. It opens into three parts, each collapsible on its own.
Complete coverage — schedule finished for your age, immunity proven by serology, or this season's dose done. With the date of the last dose and of the next booster.
Incomplete coverage — "up to date for your age", with the expected date of the next dose; or "overdue" and "not vaccinated", with the reason.
Not applicable at this age — each disease unfolds the special cases drawn from the official references: at-risk conditions, pregnancy, occupations, close contacts, travel, with the exact source.

A vaccination record is health data. Since version 1.3.1, Vaxelia encrypts it from the moment you install the app — for everyone, with nothing to set up and nothing to buy.

Your data is encrypted on your device from installation (SQLCipher, AES-256). For every user, including those on the free version.

A key that never leaves your device.
The encryption key is created on your phone and kept in its secure keychain. It is never sent to Vaxelia or to anyone else.

It locks the app and adds a second layer of AES-256-GCM encryption. The key is derived with PBKDF2 over 600,000 iterations.

The immunisation schedule is published and updated every year by the French Ministry of Health, based on the advice of the Haute Autorité de Santé (HAS). Vaxelia works from the 2026 edition, completed by the HAS / SPILF catch-up recommendations and the most recent HAS opinions.
